Mission To enhance the quality of life of our
inner-city youth.
Purpose To offer disadvantaged youth and their
families the opportunity to experience educational, artistic, athletic,
and cultural activities not available to them. The Lend A Hand Foundation
provides services to all regardless of race, color, creed, disability,
gender, national origin, age, religion, and sexual
orientation.

In the past 10 years, the Lend
A Hand Foundation (LAHF) has impacted the lives of over 5,000 youth
and their families through the Annual Backpack to School Giveaway, Teen
Talk Program, and Christmas Holiday Giving Program.
LAHF adopted the Henry Robinson Multi-Service Center in Oakland in 1998.
Its first mission of love was to prepare Easter Baskets to 100 youth
residing in the shelter.
LAHF developed a Teen Talk Tuesday Program
LAHF provided food baskets and held clothing drives
LAHF developed an Annual Back to School Giveaway and is in its 8th year. LAHF started the progam with giving out 200 in 2001 and in 2007, provided over 5,000 youth with backpacks.
LAHF developed a Christmas Holiday Giving Program. For the past few
years, LAHF has served over 300 youth and their families with educational
items, toys, clothing, and support to their parents.
LAHF works closely with schools, community centers, and has a special
focus on youth residing in homeless shelters.
LAHF provides excursion passes (baseball, basket ball, and other activities
for youth)
LAHF has received numerous awards for its outstanding community services,
such as:

LAHF represents the
commitment of the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to improve
the quality of life of children, youth and their families. LAHF has served
the community since 1997 and even though charitable giving is sometimes considerably
low, LAHF continues to thrive to make sure it reaches it goals to help our
youth.
Currently there are 15 Board Members, and 7 Advisory Board Members representing
a diverse group of professionals. A pool of volunteers provides the
extra support when needed. The organization is designed to be a comprehensive
support system utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach. |
